A phone call…

your mom has pneumonia she’s not doing well.

Mind racing…. make a plan- an hour away I will wake up early

and go see her before work.

Walking into her room in the nursing home…

A nurse says to me… she’s moved on and walks out of the room.

Trying to process… she’s in the room…

I kiss her, her body is warm…

I watch to see the rise of her chest and it’s not moving.

5 years she has been in a vegative state and now she is at peace.

Tears streaming as I walk out of the room.

Peace for your mom and you knowing she’s at peace. No matter how many years pass, the pain of the loss is always there.

Wishes of peace from me as well.
