March Slice of Life

March Slice of Life

As my husband was watching the news, He had just had a  frantic call from his mom (who has dementia) about her missing wallet. He turned to me as I was busy grading papers and organizing for school tomorrow,  and said,”I love you.”  Without thinking, “I asked what prompted you to say that?”  Instantly, I realized that was a silly thing to ask and I quickly apologized.  I was taken by surprise and I blurted it out without thinking.  His  response was, this conversation could actually be on a sitcom.  I have to agree.  I realize, I should hit pause at times before blurting what ever is going on in my head.  Lesson learned.

But there are times we can not hit pause and we do say things. How sweet of your husband…and then saying this could be on a sitcom. My husband and I have said that many times with some of the things going on in our home…and we only have ourselves and two cats.

The “hit pause” caught me attention. That is how I feel lately, I, too, have a mother taking more of my attention lately, two teenagers, husband, and lots of fourth graders. Thanks for sharing that sweet slice.
