March Slice of Life

March Slice of Life

There is something about being on a bus for a class field trip. It leaves a lasting memory. Today’s trip was no different.  I was on the bus with 5th graders.  After having read the book Long Walk to Water the students were all fired up about helping to bring clean water to Africa. Today’s field trip was to learn more about recycling and water & to celebrate World Water day which is tomorrow.

The kids were very pumped up. It wasa 40 minute drive. The bus driver turned on the radio & I watched the kids all start singing along with big smiles. Some were clapping along, others were flailing their arms getting into the groove.  I thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment.  A bit of headache from the loud singing. Very memorable.

I’ve not heard of that book. I just put it on my Amazon wish list though. We really do take water for granted in this part of the world!
