My “favorite” chore is washing dishes.

The setting must include a window where I can observe the outside world.

Lately it has been a more challenging task.

My daughter has given me the gift of home cooked dinners for a month.

Despite watching cooking shows, she has not taken on the habit of cleaning as you work.

Washing dishes is a preferred chore simply because it has such a visual impact.

Last night, at least 6 pots and pans with lids, dishes, silverware, a blender, spills and remnants of cut vegetables lying like corpses.

Soap, sponge and a bit of muscle and within a short amount of time all is restored.

  1. My son is the same way! I don’t mind cleaning up if someone else has cooked, and he cooks amazing meals! But he is so sloppy!

  2. I love how you TRIED to make dish washing sound appealing. While it does restore peace and order to the kitchen at least for a while, I am not sure it fits as my favorite chore…..but as I sit here trying to decide, I can’t figure out what my favorite chore is!

I agree with the visual impact of washed dishes. It’s a worthwhile transformational. I like your positive slant on a task many see as a drudge.

I like the gazing out the window part, but that’s all I like about washing dishes.
