The past two years you have endured endless tests to determine what ails you.

Today as I drove home with you with a tube taped to your face and a monitor hanging around your neck, my mind wandered thinking about the unique things that I have learned about you during this time.

You were told by a radiologist that you could be an organ model since your organs are perfectly shaped and are positioned camera perfect.  She told you that you could go on the road to  be a model for radiology conferences and seminars.

You were told by a physical therapist recently  that you are hyper-mobile and are double jointed.  (Unsure why it has taken so long to find that out.)

Today as the nurse was putting the NG tube up your nose, she told you that you have a deviated septum.  (Maybe that is a precursor for snoring)

She also told you that your esophagus is unusually long for someone with your height. (Maybe you will grow into your esophagus).

Those are some of the hidden traits that make you unique.  You have many unique visible traits, including your smile, your willingness to help complete strangers,  the many, varied unique situations you find yourself in, and your drive to not let health issues get in your way.

Your uniqueness continually makes me smile and shake my head in amazement.

One Response to Uniqueness

She sounds beautiful. I would love to see her smile. Your format of writing was clear and powerful.
Loved the little short sentences, and the little remarks in italics. (Maybe you will grow into your esophagus).
