Slice 13 Fears

I fear a mouse in my house.                                                 I fear never having potato chips.

I fear rats.                                                                                    I fear never having coffee.

I fear war in our land.                                                              I fear never having sour patch kids.

I fear my teacher’s salary based on test scores.           I fear never reading books.

I fear losing a family member.                                              I fear never watching movies.

I fear losing my fifth grade team.                                        I fear never having movie popcorn.

Reminiscent of Carver’s Fear Poem. Many teachers share your same fear about the teacher evaluation system.

  2. Barbara says:

I share a great many of those fears with you! Love the way your wrote so simply. But said so much!

I, too, fear a system that compensates on test scores. What a tragic world we will live in if that comes to fruition across the land.

  4. This is a great list! This would be a fun poetry idea to use with kids. April is just around the corner. 🙂
